Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking an intern to assist the project team on a construction site for a minimum of six months, with potential duration through the project lifecycle. You will learn Ryan processes, procedures, and business policies while working from a field site and office.

You will support RFIs, shop drawing coordination, safety policies, scheduling, and coordination with Vendors and Subcontractors, gaining exposure to both field and office operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field is required.
  • Must be able to perform mathematical calculations, understand architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost‑coding systems.
  • Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.

Responsibilities

  • Help generate RFIs and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
  • Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.
  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.
  • Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
  • Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.
  • Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule.

You also must be able to assume responsibility, interface & communicate effectively.
