Job summary

Ryan Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer Intern in Fort Worth, TX. This internship runs May–August 2027, with Spring and Fall Co-ops also available, offering hands-on exposure to construction processes and Ryan policies.

You will support the project team on budgets, scheduling, quality control, and safety while learning estimating techniques and contract reading. Eligibility requires a relevant bachelor’s degree track and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering/management or closely related field and within 18 months of graduating.
  • Be able to work 40 hours a week for at least a three-month term.
  • Have a general knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control methods.
  • Have the ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Possess the ability to read and understand contracts, specifications and architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Communicate clearly orally and in writing.

Job Description

Ryan Companies has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Engineer Intern. This position is available in 2027 as a summer internship running from May-August, or a Spring Co-op running from January-August, or a Fall Co-op running from May-December.

Role Overview

As a Project Engineer Intern, you will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects while focusing on learning construction industry processes, procedures, and Ryan business policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain a working understanding of budgets, cost accounting, invoices, contracts, and change orders.
  • Develop a first-hand understanding of job-site coordination, scheduling, quality control and safety.
Requirements

To be successful in this role:

  • You must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering/management or closely related field and within 18 months of graduating.

Compensation

Compensation: The hourly base pay range is $20 - $25 per hour. The base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or incentive program.
