Job summary

Arcfield in Herndon, VA is seeking a Project Engineer to support a dynamic customer environment, tracking action items, gathering requirements, and assisting with division-level communications and briefings for Senior Leadership.

You will facilitate meetings, assist with program requirements and TEMs, and help prepare management plans and documentation. This role requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and strong coordination skills.

Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a technical or scientific discipline.
  • BS 2-4, MS 0-2.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating groups to capture work processes and workflows.
  • Broad understanding of the Customer's acquisition activities and protocols.
  • Exceptional communication skills and familiarity with the Customer environment, with ability to communicate at project and executive levels.
  • Experience coordinating program management activities and schedules, including Program Reviews and Control Gate Reviews.
  • Assist in preparing management plans and reports, and maintaining correspondence and technical documents.
  • Ability to collect, compile, evaluate, and publish information and statistics.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of management plans and reports; design and/or modify briefing packages for Senior Leadership.
  • Support facilitation of action items and access for personnel.
  • Identify and track action items, monitor projects, coordinate schedules, and capture meeting minutes.
  • Facilitate meetings and information sessions with stakeholders and/or developers.
  • Assist the Sponsor with assessing, documenting, and tracking program requirements and TEMs.
  • Compose and maintain documentation (SOPs, memos, org charts, personnel lists, phone trees).
  • Coordinate with teams to address roadblocks and deliver results on time.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for senior managers and serve as travel representative for required documentation.
  • Support floor space and resource planning for the Customer.
  • Maintain check-in/out processes for staff/contractors and welcome documentation.
  • Manage office supply budget and ordering.
  • Coordinate training and appointments.
  • Obtain passports/visas, update records, and guide travelers.

Job description

Responsibilities

The Project Engineer will support the Customer by multitasking in a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities, tracking action items, identifying and understanding requirements, and supporting division-level communications.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in the preparation of management plans and reports; design and/or modify comprehensive briefing packages with data and information that will resonate with Senior Leadership.
  • Support the facilitation of and response to action items and accesses for incoming and outgoing personnel.
  • Assist in the identification and tracking of action items, monitoring of ongoing projects and initiatives, coordination of project schedules, and capture of meeting minutes.
  • Facilitate meetings and information sessions with stakeholders and/or developers.
  • Assist the Sponsor with assessing, documenting, and tracking program requirements and follow-on Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs).
  • Compose and maintain documentation (e.g., operating procedures, internal memoranda, organizational charts, personnel lists, and phone trees).
  • Coordinate with teams, as applicable, to address roadblocks and deliver results in a timely manner or recommend the most relevant course of action.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and itineraries for senior managers and serve as the travel representative for required documentation.
  • Support the Customer with floor space and resource planning.
  • Maintain check-in and check-out processes for staff and contractors, including providing and maintaining up-to-date welcome documentation.
  • Manage the office supply budget and ordering.
  • Coordinate training and appointments.
  • Obtain passports and visas as needed, update employee records, and provide process guidance to travelers.
  • Initiate various correspondence and, at the direction of the Sponsor, communicate with other Sponsor elements and government agencies in support of TDY and PCS activities.
Qualifications

  • BS 2-4, MS 0-2
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating groups to capture work processes and workflows
  • Broad understanding of the Customer's acquisition activities and protocols
  • Exceptional communication skills and familiarity with the Customer environment, with the ability to communicate effectively at the project level and with executive audiences.
  • Experience working at the executive level, with the ability to coordinate, communicate, and develop polished policies for dissemination
  • Ability to fully coordinate project schedules
  • Ability to coordinate program management process activities such as Program Reviews and Control Gate Reviews, including scheduling meetings and preparing briefings and presentations
  • Ability to assist in the preparation of management plans and reports
  • Ability to maintain correspondence suspense files, records, files for reports, operating procedures, internal memoranda, and compose correspondence
  • Ability to compose technical documents, including user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports
  • Ability to fully perform tasks requiring the collection, compilation, evaluation, and publicationof information and statistical data
Desired Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience
  • 1 year of experience in the Intelligence Community
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment
  • Ability to coordinate with engineers, system analysts, programmers, technicians, scientists, and top-level managers in the coordination and planning of programs
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
