LHH Recruitment Solutions has a Project Engineer II opening for our client in the Honesdale, PA area! This direct hire role allows you to utilize your training and experience in the utility and water industries and lead the way for process and procedural operational improvements. You will be a critical component in overseeing all engineering and operational activities related to dam safety inspections, ensuring compliance through inspections, monitoring, coordination, and reporting for water retention structures. Successful applicants will have experience in low and high hazard dams, floodwater protection systems as well as water treatment facility experience.

This role will be implementing effective mitigation strategies and ensuring full regulatory compliance to protect our assets and surrounding communities.

Salary range: $100-115 annually.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide expertise of engineering in planning, operations and design concepts of water retention facilities and operations
  • Provide technical expertise in dam safety programs, evaluations, emergency preparedness, SOP, etc.
  • Provide technical directives in contracts and specifications in dam safety and feasibility studies.
  • Utilize a CURRENT working knowledge of regulatory changes, technological advancements and trends in dam and water management.
  • Utilize strong project and process management skills.
  • Work cohesively with regulatory agencies such as PA DEP.
  • Execute strong financial skills with budget management and financial acumen.
  • Utilize WaterGEMS and SewerGEMS CAD programs.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 5-10 years’ current experience, not counting education, as a dam design or dam safety engineer.
  • Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Pennsylvania Professional Engineer certification or the willingness to obtain it within the next year.
  • Current and valid driver’s license.
  • Ability and willingness of frequent travel during the work week.
  • Ability and willingness to spend a large portion of time being hands‑on at work sites.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work well with state agencies, regulatory agencies, contractors, etc.
