Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Project Engineer I or II to oversee field coordination, documentation, and testing across multi-discipline teams in Minneapolis. The role supports construction activities from plan interpretation to final payment requests, with level determined by experience.

Responsibilities include RFIs, change orders, quality plans, and coordination with subcontractors. The base pay ranges vary by location and level, with eligibility for Mortenson's incentive plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction-related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities are required.
• Proven problem-solving and leadership skills in project settings.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans and specs for subcontractors and craft workers.
• Implement pre-construction quality plans and manage permits.
• Develop and maintain tracking logs and inspection lists.
• Manage contract documents, RFIs, and correspondence.
• Oversee testing and a three-phase inspection system.
• Coordinate submittals and align with project schedule.
• Verify subcontractor details, insurance, and final payments.
• Prepare RFIs and Change Orders; update as-built docs.
• Foster relationships across diverse teams and levels.
• Lead by example with coaching and performance feedback.
