Aspire Talent Solutions is seeking a Project Engineer for a heavy civil/highway contractor in St. Petersburg, FL. The role oversees engineering and project controls across FDOT projects and allows the right candidate to manage multiple activities on-site and in the office.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years in civil construction, a B.S. in Civil Engineering, and proficiency in Primavera P6, Excel, and Word. Relocation to the Tampa Bay area is welcome for the right person.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and specifications.
• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent daily.

• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors and field crews.
• Support monthly billing and change orders.
• Maintain document control for submittals and drawings.
• Ensure NPDES permits, SWPPP, and inspections are kept on track.

A heavy civil highway and bridge contractor with work across Florida is hiring a Project Engineer out of its St. Petersburg office in the Tampa Bay area. This is a strong opportunity for a Project Engineer or experienced Field Engineer with 5 to 8 years in civil construction who has managed multiple activities at once and wants a real path with a stable, well backed employer. You'll own the engineering and project controls side of heavy civil highway work, much of it FDOT work. Tampa Bay locals are great, and candidates ready to relocate are welcome.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Review the contract and specifications in their entirety
• Support the Project Manager and Project Superintendent on day to day project needs
• Prepare and update the project schedule in Primavera P6
• Track quantities, project costs and forecasting
• Get pricing from subcontractors and vendors, including change orders
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and crews to resolve field conflicts
• Support monthly billing, cash flow projections and change order processing
• Run document control for submittals, contract documents and record drawings
• Review HeavyJob daily reports for accuracy
• Keep NPDES permits, the SWPPP, inspections, survey staking and joint measurements with the owner on track

What We're Looking For

• 5 to 8 years of experience in the civil construction field, office and field
• Experience managing multiple activities at once on heavy civil work
• B.S. in Civil Engineering, ideally with a Construction Engineering and Management emphasis
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Excel and Word
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• FDOT project experience is a plus
