Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group is seeking a Project Engineer to support heavy civil highway and bridge projects in the Tampa Bay area. You will work with project managers, engineers, and field teams on roadway, drainage, and infrastructure work, with significant field exposure.

The role suits candidates with 3+ years in heavy civil and a civil engineering degree, with FDOT experience a plus. Relocation to Tampa is welcome and a strong career path toward PM roles is emphasized.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering experience on heavy civil, highway, road, bridge, drainage or utility projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• FDOT or other DOT project experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers and superintendents on active heavy civil projects.
• Handle RFIs, submittals, drawings, transmittals, approvals and project documentation.
• Track cost, quantities, production, materials and schedule updates.
• Schedule work activities and material deliveries with the field team.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts, cost reports and change orders.
• Communicate with owners, subcontractors, vendors, field crews and project leadership.
• Review drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Spend 20 to 30 percent of your time in the field, seeing the work get built.
• Support safety, quality and contract compliance.

Location: Tampa Bay, FL area

A large heavy civil contractor with a national footprint and a busy Florida program is hiring a Project Engineer for highway and bridge work in the Tampa Bay area.

This is a strong opportunity for a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Office Engineer or Assistant Project Manager with heavy civil experience who wants bigger projects, a stable long runway employer, and a real path to Project Manager.

You'll support project management and field operations on roadway, bridge, drainage and infrastructure projects, much of it FDOT work. Tampa locals are great, and candidates ready to relocate to Florida are welcome.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• FDOT or other DOT project experience is a plus.
• Primavera P6, HCSS or Bluebeam experience is a plus.
• EIT or PE is a plus. Spanish is a plus.
• Tampa Bay candidates preferred. Candidates open to relocating to the Tampa area are welcome.
