Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC in the Tampa Bay area seeks a Project Engineer for heavy civil highway and bridge work. You will own engineering and project controls, supporting PM and Superintendent on day-to-day needs, with responsibilities spanning scheduling, cost tracking, and field coordination.

The role requires 5–8 years in civil construction, a Civil Engineering degree (CM emphasis preferred), and proficiency in Primavera P6, Excel, and Word. Relocation to the Tampa Bay area is welcome.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of civil construction experience (office and field).
• B.S. in Civil Engineering with CM emphasis preferred.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• FDOT project experience is a plus.
• HCSS HeavyJob experience is a plus.
• Based in Tampa Bay area or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and specifications in full.
• Support PM and Superintendent with daily project needs.
• Prepare and update schedules in Primavera P6.
• Track quantities, costs and forecast.
• Obtain subcontractor/vendor pricing and manage change orders.
• Coordinate subs, suppliers, and crews to resolve field conflicts.
• Assist monthly billing and cash flow projections, process changes.
• Manage document control for submittals and drawings.
• Review HeavyJob daily reports for accuracy.
• Maintain NPDES permits, SWPPP, inspections, survey staking and joint measurements with owner.

A heavy civil highway and bridge contractor with work across Florida is hiring a Project Engineer out of its St. Petersburg office in the Tampa Bay area. This is a strong opportunity for a Project Engineer or experienced Field Engineer with 5 to 8 years in civil construction who has managed multiple activities at once and wants a real path with a stable, well backed employer. You'll own the engineering and project controls side of heavy civil highway work, much of it FDOT work. Tampa Bay locals are great, and candidates ready to relocate are welcome.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Review the contract and specifications in their entirety
• Support the Project Manager and Project Superintendent on day to day project needs
• Prepare and update the project schedule in Primavera P6
• Track quantities, project costs and forecasting
• Get pricing from subcontractors and vendors, including change orders
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and crews to resolve field conflicts
• Support monthly billing, cash flow projections and change order processing
• Run document control for submittals, contract documents and record drawings
• Review HeavyJob daily reports for accuracy
• Keep NPDES permits, the SWPPP, inspections, survey staking and joint measurements with the owner on track

What We're Looking For
