Job summary

Intertek, a global leader in quality and safety, seeks a Project Engineer, General Safety to join the Electrical team in Fridley, MN. You will evaluate conformity of power generation equipment to industry standards, create test plans, document results, and witness testing while traveling ~25% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 2+ years relatable experience.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test).
• Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
• Validate the project scope and sample applicability.
• Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing.
• Set up and operate standard test equipment and build/calibrate test fixtures.
• Document results and conduct thorough construction review.
• Perform testing of products per standards (e.g., rating, leakage current, dielectric, etc.).
• Provide quotes and sales support; attend client visits.
• Communicate project status and test results to client, sales, and management.
• Mentor less senior technical personnel.
