Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test).
• Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
• Validate the project scope and sample applicability.
• Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing.
• Follow established test plan.
• Develop and set up test plans.
• Set up and operate EUT; perform and document simple repairs on EUT as needed.
• Perform testing of products in accordance with standards.
• Mentor less senior technical personnel.
• Supply information for quotes such as length of project, site needs, rental equipment, samples, and standards that will be used.
• Set up and operate standard test equipment including spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, multi-meter, dielectric strength tester, ground continuity tester, digital multi-meter, surge generator, over-voltage tester, environmental chamber, and probes.
• Provide local technical expertise and maintain reviewer status in product categories.
• Proactively develop and communicate test procedures, new fixtures and report shells for local office.
• Investigate technical complaints and support accreditations through audits.
• Demonstrate product/standards knowledge across categories.
• Provide quotations for standards and complex projects.
• Represent Intertek on standards committees and associations.
