Job summary

Flowtec Construction, a downtown Chicago commercial general contractor, is seeking a Project Engineer to support project managers across multiple active projects and gain exposure from preconstruction through closeout.

You will manage RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and project documentation, assist with procurement and cost tracking, coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, and consultants, and build a foundation for an advancing career toward an APM role. No travel required.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of commercial construction experience required.
• Experience as a Project Engineer or similar with a General Contractor preferred.
• Exposure to ground-up, interiors, renovations, or similar commercial construction.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Desire to learn the full project lifecycle and progress toward an APM role.

I'm partnered with an established commercial General Contractor in downtown Chicago that's looking to add a Project Engineer to its growing team.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Support Project Managers across multiple active projects
• Gain exposure to projects from preconstruction through final closeout
• Manage RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and project documentation
• Assist with buyout, procurement, change orders, and cost tracking
• Coordinate with Superintendents, subcontractors, architects, and consultants
• Help maintain project schedules and track key milestones
• Gain increasing responsibility as you progress toward an APM role

What They're Looking For:

• 1-3 years of commercial construction experience
• Project Engineer or similar experience with a General Contractor
• Experience with a mid-sized or smaller GC preferred
• Exposure to ground-up, interiors, renovations, or similar commercial construction
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Someone who wants to learn the full project lifecycle rather than being siloed into one area
• All Chicagoland projects - no travel required
• Exposure to both ground-up and interior construction
