Job summary

FlatironDragados is seeking a Project Engineer to track cost data and monitor resources to keep projects on budget and on schedule. You will work with engineering and field crews to review schedules, quantities, and requirements, while ensuring safety and compliance across the site.

The role demands strong cost awareness, scheduling experience, and the ability to communicate issues and risks to management. A related degree is required, with exposure to cost accounting and reporting preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years construction engineering experience.
• Experience with resource monitoring techniques (cost accounting, basic estimating).
• Knowledge of construction scheduling and production time management.
• Knowledge of financial reporting methods, quantity tracking methods and cost coding.

Responsibilities

• Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources.
• Review all shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data.
• Provide technical input for project work plan and scheduling.
• Identify budget and schedule risks that could impact cost or time.
• Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections to track project performance.
• Update project schedule weekly for owner and management reporting.
• Prepare and manage a three-week work plan and communicate delays with solutions.
• Initiate and manage all RFIs.
• Remit accurate project quantities using cost coding for reporting.
• Manage invoicing with accounting for materials, equipment and subcontractors.
• Review certificates and permits for work and ensure safety compliance.
• Coordinate subcontractor work methods and crews as needed.
