Job summary

F.H. Paschen is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Charleston. This role centers on coordinating procurement, schedules, shop drawings, change orders, and field support to keep projects on time and on budget.

You’ll work with Bluebeam, Revit, and Procore; a 4-year degree in Engineering, Construction, Architecture, or Business is required. Prior internship experience is a plus. We value clear writing and thorough documentation across project close-out and QA processes.

• Experience with project scheduling, QA/QC, and documentation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate material procurement and delivery.
• Produce project schedules and track milestones.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for suitability.
• Quote/qualify subcontractor change orders and track RFI status.
• Maintain as-builts and project close-out documents.
• Assist with field supervision and subcontractor coordination.
• Utilize Blue Beam, Revit and Procore on project tasks.
• Prepare correspondence and maintain quality control.

Position Overview

The Project Engineer is a critical component of the project team that works together to manage a construction project.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate material procurement and delivery
• Produce project schedules
• Review and determine suitability of shop drawings and submittals
• Quote/qualify subcontractor requests for change orders
• Track status of change orders
• Track status of Requests for Information
• Collect, verify, and distribute as-builts
• Maintain project close-out documents
• Assist with field supervision
• Blueprint reading
• Quantity take-offs
• Sub-contractor solicitations
• Correspondence
• Quality Control
• Subcontractor Coordination
• Other duties as assigned
• Have knowledge of technology related to construction, such as Blue Beam, Revit, and Procore.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
• Experience with computer applications for spreadsheets, word processing and scheduling is preferred.
• 4-year degree in Engineering, Construction, Architecture or Business is required.
• Prior internship experience is a plus.
