Job summary

Elford, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to support delivery of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will work with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to gain hands‑on experience in all aspects of project execution.

The role emphasizes problem‑ solving, collaboration, organization, and seeing projects come to life. This is a great stepping stone toward future project management leadership within Elford.

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of construction experience through internships, co‑ops, or full‑time employment.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and startup activities.
  • Assist with managing project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and logs.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
  • Track shop drawings, material procurement, and equipment deliveries.
  • Maintain project schedules and monitor progress.
  • Participate in meetings and communicate updates with stakeholders.
  • Review invoices, change requests, and related documentation.
  • Collect as‑built drawings, closeout docs, warranties, and operation manuals.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Estimating, and Operations to support objectives.
  • Learn processes and tools to manage construction projects from start to finish.

Project Engineer

What You'll Do

  • Collect and organize as‑built drawings, closeout documents, warranties, and operation manuals.
  • Partner with Accounting, Estimating, and Operations teams to support project objectives.
  • Learn the processes and tools necessary to successfully manage construction projects from start to finish.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 0–3 years of construction experience through internships, co‑ops, or full-time employment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar software is a plus.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and desire to build a long‑term career in construction.
