Job summary

Elford is seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients, you'll gain hands-on experience in all aspects of project execution while building the foundation for a future career in project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 years of construction experience through internships, co-ops, or full-time employment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and startup activities.
• Manage project documentation: RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, logs.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams to keep projects moving safely.
• Track shop drawings, material procurement, and equipment deliveries.
• Maintain project schedules and monitor progress.
• Participate in meetings and communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Review and process invoices and change requests.
• Collect as-built drawings, closeout documents, warranties, and manuals.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Estimating, Operations to support objectives.
• Learn processes and tools to manage projects end-to-end.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 years of construction experience through internships, co‑ops, or full‑time employment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar software is a plus.
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and desire to build a long‑term career in construction.
