Job summary

Faremouth & Company in Oklahoma seeks a Mechanical/Project Engineer with about 5 years of experience in rotating equipment and engineered systems. You will review proposals, create and approve drawings, and ensure compliance with codes and industry standards while coordinating drafting resources.

The role requires hands-on Inventor skills and proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks, plus strong documentation and communication abilities for project execution.

Qualifications

  • About 5 years of experience with rotating equipment and engineered systems.
  • Experience with oil and gas equipment and fabricated pumping systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience using Inventor; proficiency in AutoCAD & SolidWorks.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Strong skills in reading, developing, and reviewing P&IDs.
  • Familiarity with ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, AWS D1.1, and API specs.
  • Project management experience; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail; leadership capability.

Responsibilities

  • Review project proposals, specifications, and inspection reports to determine engineering requirements, feasibility, and execution procedures
  • Create, review, and approve engineering drawings, including general arrangements, fabrication drawings, and layouts
  • Utilize and coordinate shared drafting resources within the engineering department
  • Review and approve specifications for engineered equipment and systems
  • Manage project timelines to support required delivery schedules
  • Assist the Project Manager with preparation and review of customer documentation
  • Perform drawing, specification, and document review and approval throughout the project lifecycle
  • Interpret and develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Ensure designs and documentation align with applicable industry codes and standards

Job description

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong skills in reading, developing, and reviewing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Familiarity with ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, AWS D1.1, and applicable API specifications
  • Project management experience with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
