Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of general engineering experience in roadway construction.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.

Responsibilities

Job Details
General Description

Project Engineers will be part of the overall engineering team that supports the Project Managers in all operational aspects of a construction project.

Essential Duties
  1. Assist in the coordination and scheduling of subcontractors and other forces.
  2. Act as primary liaison between field operations and central accounting for accurate timekeeping and job cost accounting.
  3. Work with Area and Project Superintendents to develop short-term working schedules, track material needs, and availability.
  4. Track and document quantities and field measurements for progress payment purposes.
  5. Create Daily Extra Work Reports and submit to Contract Admin for review.
  6. Attend construction site meetings or pre-construction meetings as needed.
  7. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing company procedures and regulations.
  8. Process and track all submittals.
  9. Process Requests for Information (RFI).
  10. Submit Staking Requests.
  11. Prepare traffic control plans and schedule weekly lane closures.
  12. Perform takeoffs for plan changes.
  13. Create daily time cards in HCSS and monitor adjustments from the field.
  14. Provide administrative support for remote offices (answering phones, scanning documents, filing, etc.).

Work Experience

One to three years of general engineering experience in a roadway construction environment is required.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction Management, or an Associate’s Degree in Construction Management or related fields.
