Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will perform field engineering management, inspections, construction and commissioning management, FAT at vendor workshops, develop ITPs, conduct contractor walkthroughs, review bids, and support site construction and commissioning teams. Success is measured by safety, project cost, schedule, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Serve as on-site contact for construction and commissioning management.
  2. Oversee safety compliance including site orientation, permits, safety analysis, meetings, audits, and events.
  3. Verify receipt and inspection of materials, manage non-conformities, and material custody transfer.
  4. Manage project documents ensuring quality and specifications.
  5. Manage and challenge suppliers and contractors to meet project goals.
  6. Expedite suppliers to meet delivery goals.
  7. Maintain communication logs with external partners.
  8. Develop and manage construction and commissioning schedules, report delays.
  9. Respond promptly to RFIs, manage construction and pre-commissioning activities.
  10. Follow and update the project execution plan.
  11. Coordinate internal and external communication per the plan.
  12. Support contract administration and resolve contractual disputes.
  13. Track and approve changes, maintain change logs, escalate issues.
  14. Close action items promptly and review progress with the project team.
  15. Maintain comprehensive project knowledge to fill in for the Project Manager if needed.
  16. Contribute to development of construction and commissioning strategies.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of field construction or related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
  • Experience managing projects (a plus)
  • Industrial gas experience (a plus)
