Job summary

Felix Construction is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to assist Project Managers on water and wastewater projects in the Phoenix metro area. The role requires strong communication, technical reading of plans, and solid organization.

Qualifications

• Requires a construction management, civil engineering or mechanical engineering degree.
• 2+ years of water/wastewater construction experience desired.
• Proficiency with Excel, PDF tools and project documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents and field staff to support project execution.
• Set up and organize project files per company standards.
• Draft and manage purchase orders, subcontracts and material orders under PM guidance.
• Collect and organize project photos and documentation.
• Maintain CPM schedule with PM and Superintendent.
• Assist in payment applications and progress billings.
• Attend project meetings and contribute to agenda items.
• Track submittals and RFIs to keep projects on track.
• Prepare work packages and CAD drawings detailing scope of work.
• Compile O&M information from vendors.
• Represent Felix Construction professionally on site.
• Work from Felix Construction Phoenix HQ and various job sites.

Felix Construction Company is seeking an experienced Project Engineer that will assist Project Managers in the execution of water and wastewater treatment projects throughout the Phoenix metro area ($250k – $20M). This person must be self-motivated and possess strong communication/interpersonal skills.

What You'll Be Doing

• Closely work with Project Managers, Superintendents, field personnel and others involved in projects
• Learn and set up project files in accordance with company systems
• Organize vendor files, communicate clearly with vendors, draft and set up purchase orders, subcontracts, and material orders under the direction of the Project Manager
• Take responsibility for gathering, taking, and organizing project photographic documentation
• Maintain the project CPM Schedule, work with the Project Manager and Superintendent
• Learn payment application process and drafts progress billings for Project Manager review
• Attend project meetings and assume responsibility for some agenda items
• Track, review and follow up on submittals and RFIs to keep the project on track
• Assist Project Manager in creating work packages for field personnel, including coordinating with Superintendent, and creating AutoCAD drawings with details of the work to be performed
• Compile Operations and Maintenance (O&M) information from vendors
• Represent the company in a professional manner
• Work from the Felix Construction Phoenix Headquarters and job sites around the Valley

Who You Are

• Construction management, civil engineering or mechanical engineering degree required
• 2+ years of water/wastewater construction industry experience highly desired
• Advanced Excel and Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam skills highly desired
• Basic AutoCAD experience preferred
• Able to read plans and specifications for all the disciplines on a typical water/wastewater project
• Exposure to Alternative Procurement Delivery Method (APDM) experience highly desired (CSP, CMAR, D-B, JOC, etc.)
• Take initiative and handle ambiguity well
• Work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
• Have the legal right to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship
