Job summary

Jobot is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer in Phoenix, AZ. The candidate should have 2+ years of heavy civil site work experience including water/wastewater, pump stations, lift stations, and underground utilities.

The role focuses on planning, cost control, documentation, and staff mentorship within our construction team. Responsibilities include scheduling, procurement, change management, and progress claims.

Responsibilities

• Document Controls & Procedures: drawings review, change management, and documentation control.
• Subcontract Management: define scope, subcontracts, inquiries, progress tracking, back charges.
• Project Administration: track progress claims and estimates.

Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 per year

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in some or all of the following:

Heavy civil site work, excavation, roadway, water/wastewater, pump stations, lift stations, concrete, underground utilities/piping.

As Project Engineer, your role will be responsible for:

• Project Planning & Execution: Material procurement and expediting, assistance in work planning for self-perform and work activities, oversight and mentoring of engineering staff, Project close-out: involved in coordinating of documentation - deficiencies, warranties, maintenance and final payments
• Schedule: Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of the project schedule and costing system
• Project Cost Control: Inventory control - monitoring and tracking of equipment and resources, labor productivity monitoring for self-perform work activities
• Project Document Controls & Procedures: Coordinating and reviewing drawings, submissions, specifications, changes and document control, Change management - responsible for set-up, issuing documentation, pricing and change administration
• Subcontract Management: Subcontract administration - defining scope of work, writing subcontracts, answering inquiries, monitoring progress, tracking and processing back charges
• Project Administration: Preparing and tracking progress claims and estimates

Additional Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
• Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed
