Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in Mission, TX, is seeking a Project Engineer in Manufacturing Engineering to drive process improvements and lead cross-functional project teams on site.

The role focuses on implementing deviations in SAP, developing robust manufacturing processes with PFMEA, SMED, and poke‑a‑yoke principles, and ensuring quality across the product life cycle. Strong project-management and manufacturing experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is required.
  • 5+ years’ experience in molding manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong understanding of injection-molding principles.
  • Experience with mold construction preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in or supporting a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in at least two of production, quality, materials, design, or manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated project-management and implementation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Implement deviations and CNs in SAP.
  • Lead cross-functional teams for plant budget and asset implementation.
  • Release engineering docs including BOMs and quality features.
  • Track product cost and manage savings from prototype to implementation.
  • Develop manufacturing processes using PFMEA, SMED, poke-yoke.
  • Approve new components under SQA-015.
  • Establish QA equipment and documentation, including QC checks and audits.
  • Coordinate and lead sample builds (prototype, ESL, MSL, pilot).
  • Identify risks to product quality and schedule.
  • Facilitate communication among internal and external teams.
  • Manage changes to minimize excess/obsolete inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position: Project Engineer (Manufacturing Engineering) – Mission, TX – USA. On‑site employee.

Responsibilities
  • Implement deviations and change notices (CN) in SAP.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams to execute plant budget development and management, including asset implementation at project close.
  • Release engineering documentation—including drawings, bills of material, quality critical features, and related documents—to support proper execution by plant resources.
  • Track product cost and manage savings through prototype to implementation.
  • Develop robust manufacturing processes applying PFMEA, SMED, and poke‑a‑yoke principles.
  • Approve new components under SQA‑015.
  • Establish quality‑assurance equipment and documentation, including incoming QC, in‑process QC, end‑of‑line testing, and finished‑stock audit requirements.
  • Coordinate and lead all sample builds—prototype, ESL, MSL, and pilot builds—in an efficient and organized manner.
  • Identify and communicate risks and concerns related to product quality and/or project schedule.
  • Facilitate effective communication among all internal and external team members.
  • Manage engineering and product changes to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (required).
  • Five or more years’ experience in molding manufacturing (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of injection‑molding principles.
  • Experience with mold construction (preferred).
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in at least two of the following disciplines: production, quality, materials, design, or manufacturing (preferred).
  • Demonstrated project‑management and implementation experience (required).

Salary

Base salary range: $64,400.00 – $103,700.00 annually. Salary varies by job level, geographic location, experience, and other factors. Annual merit increases may apply.
