Job summary

Adecco in Farmington Hills, MI is seeking Project Engineers to own programs from concept through production launches. You will collaborate with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers to meet time, budget, and customer requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and 3+ years in manufacturing/project engineering, with APQP/PPAP familiarity and a continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical education.
• 3+ years of process, manufacturing, or project engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Experience supporting new product launches or capital equipment projects.
• Knowledge of APQP and PPAP.
• Understanding of SPC, PFMEA, GD&T and blueprint reading.
• Experience cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, quality, suppliers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead new products and manufacturing programs from concept through production launch.
• Serve as a key technical contact for customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Develop project timelines, track budgets, and communicate program status.
• Support cost estimating and manufacturing process development for new products.
• Identify capital equipment requirements and coordinate equipment sourcing.
• Oversee equipment buy-off, installation, and production readiness.
• Lead and support APQP activities through launch.
• Work with manufacturing engineering on cycle times, tooling, fixtures, and process improvements.
• Review PFMEAs and support actions to improve process capability, quality, and scrap.
• Support equipment and plant layout planning.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.

Job description

We are partnering with an established global manufacturer in the Farmington Hills area that is adding Project Engineers to its engineering team.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys owning projects from initial concept through equipment launch and production. The Project Engineer will work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers to ensure new programs are launched on time, within budget, and to customer requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred; equivalent technical education and relevant manufacturing/project experience will also be considered
• 3+ years of process, manufacturing, or project engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
• Experience supporting new product launches and/or capital equipment projects
• Working knowledge of APQP and PPAP
• Understanding of SPC, process capability, PFMEA, blueprint reading, and GD&T
• Practical knowledge of machining/manufacturing processes, tooling, materials, and equipment
• Experience working cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers
• AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or Microsoft Project experience is a plus
• Strong communication, organization, and project ownership skills
