Job summary

MJ Recruiters, LLC is assisting an established original equipment manufacturer in hiring a Project Engineer to join the project management team. You will work with project managers and operations to complete multiple projects on time and within budget, reporting daily to a Project Team Lead.

Responsibilities include coordinating with production and customers, overseeing budgets and timelines, forecasting projects, and ensuring inspection and verification meet customer scope.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; additional post-secondary education preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar project engineering position.
• Experience managing CapEx projects in manufacturing or OEM environments.
• Experience overseeing project timelines and budgets; able to forecast projects.
• Ability to read blueprints/part drawings; mechanical aptitude; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead up to 20 projects at a time across various stages.
• Serve as liaison between production and customers on project status.
• Oversee budgets, timelines, and project scopes; document changes and communicate them.
• Forecast projects and communicate changes; ensure equipment inspection meets scope.
• Negotiate change orders, terms, scheduling with customers and operations.
• Maintain project documentation and participate in project meetings with sales and engineering.
• Oversee equipment installs and assist with final inspections.
• Represent the company professionally to build client relationships.

Established original equipment manufacturer is hiring a Project Engineer to join their project management team. The Project Engineer will work within a team of project managers and operations professionals to complete multiple projects on time and within budget. Daily you will report to a Project Team Lead. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Manage and lead up to 20 projects at a time at various stages
• Communicate as the liaison between production and customers on the status of projects
• Oversee budgets and manage timelines and project scopes
• Forecast projects and communicate and document changes
• Ensure that inspection and verification of equipment meets the scope of the customer project
• Negotiate change orders, project terms, scheduling etc. with customers and operations
• Update customers on the status of projects and hold them accountable to the project scope or educate them on additional costs of the project
• Complete all project documentation and attend project meetings with sales and engineering
• Oversee equipment installs and assist with oversight of final inspection
• Represent the company in a professional manner that will foster and build client relationships
• Other duties as directed by management

REQUIREMENTS for the Project Engineer:

• Minimum of a high school diploma; additional post education is preferred
• Ideally 3-5 years of experience in a similar project engineering position
• Experience managing CapEx projects in general manufacturing or at an OEM (original equipment manufacturer)
• Experience overseeing project timelines and budgets
• Experience reading blueprints/part drawings
• Ability to forecast projects
• Mechanical aptitude
• Microsoft Office

Skills preferred but NOT required:

• ERP experience
• Skilled trades background
• Working knowledge of PLCs
• Fabrication or paint background
