Job summary

Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction (RLW) is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team of industry leaders. Based in Texas, you'll contribute to delivering high-quality infrastructure projects while growing your career alongside experienced professionals.

Responsibilities include tracking costs, managing RFIs, supporting procurement, and coordinating with subcontractors. A civil engineering or construction management degree with 2+ years field experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management with 2+ years in civil construction.
• Solid understanding of field operations, construction practices, and project workflows.
• Strong communication and ability to lead through influence.

• Track and manage project costs, forecasts, and reports.
• Handle RFIs, submittals, invoices, and contract documentation.
• Support procurement, scheduling, and project startup/closeout.
• Assist with safety, quality, and risk management.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors.
• Support Project Manager in day-to-day operations.

Position Description

Key Responsibilities:

Position Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management and 2+ years of experience in civil construction — or 3+ years of hands-on experience in the field
• Solid understanding of field operations, construction practices, and project workflows
• Familiarity with Viewpoint and scheduling software (a plus!)
• A strong communicator and relationship-builder who can lead through influence, drive change, and deliver results across teams
