Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a hands-on Project Engineer to lead technical execution, scheduling, and cost control on industrial, manufacturing or construction projects in Ohio. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage procurement and vendor relationships, and ensure scope, budget, schedule, quality and safety requirements are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Industrial Engineering (Masters preferred).
  • 5+ years of project engineering experience in industrial, manufacturing or construction environments.
  • Proficiency with MS Project and/or Primavera P6 for scheduling and critical-path management.
  • Strong cost control, budgeting and forecasting experience for engineering projects.
  • Hands-on CAD/3D tools experience: AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks and/or Creo; BIM workflows familiarity.
  • Experience with P&ID development, SCADA/PLC systems, electrical and mechanical systems, and commissioning activities.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, welding, procurement and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC, GD&T, testing/validation, FMEA, Lean/Six Sigma.
  • ERP familiarity (SAP/Oracle) for material and change control.
  • Strong communication and leadership to coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • ISO 9001 and EHS awareness; PMP/PE desirable; PLC qualifications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and optimize project schedules using MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • Manage project cost control, budgeting, forecasts and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables: drawings, 3D models and BIM coordination.
  • Lead procurement and vendor management, bid evaluation and change control.
  • Support construction management: supervise fabrication, welding, installation and testing.
  • Oversee commissioning, FAT/SAT, system integration and handover.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and drive continuous improvement with Lean/Six Sigma.
  • Maintain QA/QC processes and GD&T for quality compliance.
  • Coordinate BOM control and ERP material/change management (SAP/Oracle).
  • Ensure ISO 9001 and EHS compliance on-site and in design; collaborate across disciplines.

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Project Engineer to lead technical execution, scheduling and cost control across engineering and construction projects. The Project Engineer will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage procurement and vendor relationships, and ensure projects meet scope, budget, schedule, quality and safety requirements. This role requires strong engineering judgment, practical field experience and proficiency with project controls and engineering tools to drive timely, compliant delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain and optimize project schedules using MS Project and/or Primavera P6; monitor progress and drive schedule recovery actions as required.
  • Manage project cost control and budgeting processes, produce forecasts, track expenditures and support financial reporting.
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables: review and approve drawings (AutoCAD, Revit, P&ID), 3D models (Revit, SolidWorks, Creo) and BIM coordination activities.
  • Lead procurement and vendor management: prepare technical specifications, evaluate bids, oversee vendor performance and manage change control.
  • Support construction management and field execution: supervise fabrication, welding, installation, testing and commissioning activities; ensure alignment to design and quality standards.
  • Oversee commissioning, testing and validation programs including FAT/SAT, system integration (SCADA, PLC) and operational handover.
  • Perform root cause analysis for technical issues, implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma and FMEA methodologies.
  • Implement and maintain QA/QC processes and GD&T practices to ensure product and install quality; coordinate inspections and non-conformance resolution.
  • Manage BOM control and ERP coordination (SAP/Oracle) for material tracking, change management and project invoicing.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards (ISO 9001), and enforce Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) requirements on site and in design.
  • Collaborate with structural, mechanical and electrical engineering teams on design review, materials selection, hydraulics/pneumatics and system integration.
  • Identify and manage project risks, maintain risk registers and implement mitigation strategies to protect schedule, cost and safety.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Industrial Engineering (or related discipline); Masters or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of project engineering experience in industrial, manufacturing or construction environments; proven track record delivering medium-to-large projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Project and/or Primavera P6 for scheduling and critical-path management.
  • Strong experience in cost control, budgeting and forecasting for engineering projects.
  • Hands-on experience with engineering drawings and CAD/3D tools: AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks and/or Creo; familiarity with BIM workflows.
  • Experience with P&ID development, SCADA/PLC systems, electrical and mechanical systems, and commissioning activities.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, welding processes, procurement practices and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC processes, GD&T, testing & validation, root cause analysis, FMEA and Lean/Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience with BOM management and ERP systems (SAP and/or Oracle) for material and change control.
  • Solid understanding of structural engineering principles, hydraulics/pneumatics and materials selection.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams across site and office.
  • Proven ability to manage risk, change control and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and EHS standards.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP or PE are desirable; PLC programming, welding qualifications or Six Sigma certification a plus.
