Job description

Project Engineer

Allan Myers is seeking a motivated, diligent, and goal-oriented Project Engineer passionate about the heavy civil construction industry. We provide training and resources to help develop your skills for successful project management both professionally and personally.

This role involves collaborating with the Project Team to plan and support the completion of construction engineering projects, ensuring progress meets deadlines. All work must adhere to Allan Myers policies, procedures, and programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop effective plans and schedules with the Project Manager and Superintendent to meet project goals.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical data; communicate these to the Project Team, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure compliance with standards, codes, and design details.
  • Coordinate the delivery of materials such as pipe, stone, reinforcing steel, and beams, working with the Project Team and Purchasing Department for timely and cost-effective procurement.
  • Manage RFI and submittal processes, maintaining project control logs in CMiC.
  • Handle owner billings and related accounting tasks.
  • Assist in developing Change Orders and related documentation.
  • Monitor safety compliance during all work, including subcontractors, in collaboration with the Safety Manager, maintaining safety files and reviewing schedules for safety measures.
Salary Range:

$80,000 - $90,000, based on experience.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in construction management, estimating, operations, or engineering; heavy civil experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; continuing education in construction highly desirable.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required.
  • FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of contract administration, job cost management, change order processing, labor & equipment reporting, planning, scheduling, safety policies, and procedures.
