Job summary

Ryan Companies is seeking a trainee to assist the project team on designated construction projects in Austin, learning field and office processes. The role begins on-site for at least six months, with potential to continue through the project lifecycle.

You will help generate RFIs, monitor shop drawings, and coordinate deliveries, while gaining exposure to safety policies and permit processes, scheduling, and Punchlist activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field is required.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and understand drawings, POs, contracts, and cost-coding systems.
• Strong communication and responsibility handling.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project team in completing designated projects while learning Ryan processes.
• Learn project dimensional control requirements and verify dimensions against shop drawings.
• Assist in coordination and tracking of vendor and subcontractor deliveries.
• Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures and on-site logistics.
• Participate in scheduling and Punchlist processes.

Job Description

This individual will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies.

The objective is to educate the employee in field and office operations while working from a construction project site for a minimum of six months and preferably for the duration of an entire construction project.

Some things you can expect to do:

• Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.
• Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
• Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.
• Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
• Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.
• Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
• Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
• Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.
• Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule
