Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a learner on a construction project site to support the project team while mastering Ryan processes, procedures and policies.

This role focuses on field and office operations from a construction site for a minimum of six months, potentially the duration of the entire project. You will assist with RFIs, shop drawings, vendor deliveries, safety policies, site logistics, permits, and scheduling.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and read architectural/engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with purchase orders, contracts and cost-coding systems.
  • Strong communication and interface skills.

Responsibilities

  • Help generate RFIs and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and coordination.
  • Learn dimensional control requirements and verify field dimensions.
  • Assist in coordinating vendor and subcontractor deliveries.
  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Understand overall site logistics.
  • Participate in permit inspection processes.
  • Update office and site plans with RFIs/ASIs.
  • Attend Punchlist inspections and document items.
  • Assist in preparing and updating the project schedule.

This individual will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies. The objective is to educate the employee in field and office operations while working from a construction project site for a minimum of six months and preferably for the duration of an entire construction project.

Some Things You Can Expect To Do
  • Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
  • Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.
  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.
  • Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
  • Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.
  • Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule
