Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a learner on a construction project site to assist the project team in completing designated tasks while gaining knowledge of Ryan processes, policies, and procedures.

The role emphasizes education in both field and office operations across a construction project. The candidate will start on-site for at least six months, with preference for the duration of the project, supporting RFIs, shop drawings, vendor coordination, safety policies, and schedule updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field is required.
  • Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations, read architectural/engineering drawings, and manage POs/contracts/coding systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project team with learning Ryan processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Educate in field and office operations on active construction projects.
  • Generate RFIs and track approvals; maintain shop drawing log and coordination.
  • Learn site logistics and safety policies; participate in permit inspections.
  • Assist in coordination and tracking of vendor and subcontractor deliveries.
  • Attend Punchlist inspections with Ryan personnel and Owner; document items and monitor completion.
  • Assist in preparing and updating the project schedule.

Job Description

This individual will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies.

The objective is to educate the employee in field and office operations while working from a construction project site for a minimum of six months and preferably for the duration of an entire construction project.

Some things you can expect to do
  • Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
  • Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.
  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.
  • Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
  • Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.
  • Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule
