Job summary

Ryan Companies is seeking a learner to assist the project team on designated projects, focusing on learning Ryan processes, procedures and policies. The role involves working from a construction site for at least six months to educate the employee in field and office operations.

Responsibilities include generating RFIs, tracking approvals, maintaining shop drawings, coordinating with vendors, and supporting the project schedule while learning safety practices and permit processes on the job.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction-related field is required.
• Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
• Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings.
• Strong communication and interface skills.

Responsibilities

• Generate RFIs and track approvals.
• Maintain shop drawing log and coordination.
• Learn dimensional control and verify measurements against drawings.
• Coordinate and track Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
• Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Understand site logistics.
• Participate in permit inspection process.
• Update plans with RFIs and ASIs.
• Attend and record Punchlist inspections and monitor closures.
• Assist in preparing and updating the project schedule.

Job Description:

This individual will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies.

The objective is to educate the employee in field and office operations while working from a construction project site for a minimum of six months and preferably for the duration of an entire construction project.

Some things you can expect to do:

• Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.
• Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
• Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.
• Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
• Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.
• Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
• Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
• Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.
• Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule
