Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years in project management roles within mechanical construction.
  • Experience in industrial, semiconductor, or data center mechanical construction.
  • Strong leadership of multi-discipline teams, large budgets, and complex schedules.
  • Deep knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, pumps, valves) and applicable codes.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, contracts, changes, and claims.

  • Manage client and stakeholder engagement; maintain relationships with owners, engineers, vendors, and authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs, quality standards, codes, and regulations; lead pre-construction planning.
  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor and vendor agreements, changes, and claims.

Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead and deliver large-scale mechanical construction projects across industrial, semiconductor, and data center sectors. The Project Director will own project performance from bid through closeout, managing schedule, cost, quality, safety, and client relationships. This role requires deep mechanical systems knowledge, strong leadership of multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors, and a track record of delivering complex construction projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide executive leadership and full accountability for mechanical construction projects, including planning, execution, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics; drive corrective actions to meet targets.
  • Manage project teams including engineering, procurement, construction managers, site superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure coordinated delivery.
  • Oversee mechanical scope execution including HVAC, piping, process utilities, clean utilities, skid installations, and equipment set/align.
  • Own client and stakeholder engagement; maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, vendors and local authorities to ensure alignment and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety programs, quality standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements; lead pre-construction safety and quality planning.
  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor and vendor agreements, change orders, and claims; ensure contractual compliance and commercial protection.
  • Implement risk management practices: identify, quantify and mitigate schedule, cost, technical and contractual risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned; mentor and develop project leadership and field teams.
  • Coordinate handover and commissioning support, ensuring documentation, testing, and acceptance criteria are met for operational turnover.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in mechanical construction with at least 5 years in project management level roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in industrial, semiconductor, or data center mechanical construction projects highly preferred.
  • Strong project management skills with proven ability to manage multi-discipline teams, large budgets, complex schedules, and multiple concurrent projects.
  • Deep technical knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, pumps, valves, process utilities) and applicable codes and standards.
  • Proven commercial acumen: experience with budgeting, forecasting, contract negotiation, change management and claims resolution.
  • Established track record of delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; able to influence at executive and field levels.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites frequently and ability to operate in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
