Job summary

GreenBridge seeks a Project Director for its Illinois life sciences portfolio. You will own project delivery, steer early-stage RFPs, and lead a 30-40+ member team on-site, with mobility to relocate as new awards come in. Heavy travel and per diem accompany a high-visibility leadership role in biopharma capital projects.

You will manage safety, schedule, cost and quality while cultivating client relationships and business development opportunities across Illinois and beyond.

Qualifications

• Proven construction leadership in life sciences or biopharma environments.
• Strong track record delivering large, complex capital projects safely.
• Experience managing demanding owners/clients in EPC settings.
• Business development or pursuit experience (RFPs, bid strategy, client relationships).
• Willingness to be on-site with mobility to multiple locations.

Project Director | Life Sciences / Biopharma | Chicago, IL

Chicago, Illinois | Heavy travel (follow the work) | Per diem included

We're partnering with an established global EPC that delivers complex projects across life sciences, advanced manufacturing and other critical sectors. They're looking for a Project Director to lead their Illinois life sciences portfolio and help win what comes next.

This isn't a standard PD seat. You'll be portfolio owner, business developer and on-site lead in one role. You'll get in early on RFPs and help decide which projects are worth bidding for. When one is won, you'll build the team and take it to site.

The role

• Join the early-stage RFP and pursuit process, with a say in bid/no-bid decisions
• Own project delivery from the front, with accountability for safety, schedule, cost and quality
• Lead the current Illinois biopharma project, with a strong on-site presence during execution
• Build and lead a team of 30-40+ and keep a bench ready to mobilize when the next award lands
• Relocate yourself and your team to new project locations as the work moves

What you bring

• Strong construction leadership background as a PD or equivalent in life sciences, biopharma or other cGMP environments
• A track record of safe, successful delivery on large, complex capital projects
• Experience managing demanding owners and clients
• Business development or pursuit experience (RFPs, bid strategy, client relationships)
• The mindset of "if I need to be there, I need to be there." Construction gets done on site.
• Proven ability to recruit, build and retain high-performing teams

Travel

This role follows the work. Expect up to 80-90% travel at times, and the next project could be in Illinois or anywhere else the business wins. Candidates based out of state are welcome if they're willing to spend significant time on site.

Compensation and benefits

• Base salary up to $300k
• 25-30% annual bonus
