Who You’ll Work With

You will join one of our 45 US offices, be part of a team of over 1500 professionals, and work directly with clients on impactful projects. As a Project Director in our Design Group, you will collaborate with industry experts to deliver high-quality solutions to leading companies worldwide.

What You’ll Do

You will lead significant and challenging projects, including large Engineering Only, EPCm, or Program of Projects, in a client-facing role. Your extensive experience in engineering and construction practices will be vital in meeting aggressive timelines and delivering exceptional results across sectors such as Industrial, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, advanced technology, and food & beverage.

  • Lead projects using established Client Trust project management practices
  • Ensure the safe, successful delivery of complex projects within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Build and maintain client relationships, driving business development
  • Provide expertise in project design, operations, engineering, construction, and execution
  • Support proposal development and project initiation from concept through start-up
  • Oversee the engineering team in preparing plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, architects, and other professionals
  • Facilitate site, building, and infrastructure design and construction, solving execution challenges proactively
  • Manage client communications, expectations, timelines, budgets, scope, and risks
  • Coordinate with authorities and ensure compliance with local requirements
  • Interface with construction and site managers to resolve design and constructability issues; support value engineering
  • Prepare proposals and participate in sales presentations
  • Make impactful contributions daily, strengthening client and team relationships
What You’ll Bring
  • At least 15 years of project management and engineering experience with capital projects, including design, specifications, cost estimation, budgeting, change management, permits, and construction administration
  • Understanding of all Design Group services and the interdependency of design and construction leadership
  • Proven success in delivering large or complex projects or programs
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, demonstrating confidence and proactive problem-solving
  • Mastery of project management tools and a champion of Client Trust initiatives
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction practices
  • Recognition by clients and leaders for handling challenging projects
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, negotiation, and maintaining positive relationships
  • Experience overseeing design projects involving buildings, utilities, process systems, or automation
  • Broad engineering discipline knowledge
  • Experience in an A/E/C design firm environment
  • Excellent presentation, client interaction, and team management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project
  • Willingness to travel for project needs, including installation, start-up, meetings, and industry events
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related technical field (preferred)
