Project Director, Grants Management (REMOTE ROLE - DMV area)

PROJECT DIRECTOR, Grants Management

ICF is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Director to oversee a large government contract providing federal grants financial management training and technical assistance (TTA). The role involves supporting U.S. grantees in building financial management capacity and infrastructure to enhance federal award management.

This position is REMOTE, with candidates required to reside in the DMV area.

Note: This role requires obtaining a Public Trust Clearance prior to start date.

What You Will Do
  1. Lead a national training and TTA project aimed at strengthening grants financial management for federal grantees.
  2. Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with federal clients, fostering a culture of excellence, providing prompt responses, and participating in business development.
  3. Provide visionary, strategic, and practical leadership for delivering innovative, results-oriented TTA services.
  4. Ensure project quality by supervising staff, monitoring performance, and conducting annual reviews.
  5. Coordinate TTA needs assessments, develop customized plans, and deliver high-quality, responsive TTA products and services.
  6. Perform additional duties as assigned, aligned with the position's scope.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, public policy or administration, criminal justice, business administration, or related fields.
  • At least 10 years of project management experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing nationwide projects.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Must obtain a Public Trust security clearance prior to start.
Additional Skills/Qualifications
  • Knowledge of social science research, evidence-based programs, and practices.
  • Experience delivering national training or technical assistance.
  • Understanding of federal grants financial management statutes, regulations, and policies.
  • Experience working with Native American/Alaska Native Tribal Governments and communities, advocating for AI/AN issues.
  • Strong multi-tasking, communication, interpersonal, and partnership-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in virtual environments and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
  • PMP certification.
  • Advanced degree in relevant fields.
  • Experience with EPA Assistance Programs, federal consulting, and managing multi-million-dollar budgets.
  • Experience working with states, territories, tribes, and leading dispersed teams.
  • Sound business ethics and problem-solving skills.

Pay range: $118,730 - $201,840 annually, based on experience, location, and qualifications.
