Build RPO is seeking a Project Director to lead massive mechanical construction programs across data centers, healthcare, pharma, and tech sectors. You will drive multi-million dollar projects, mentor a team of Project Managers, and own safety, schedule, and budget—from concept through closeout.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of PM experience in mechanical construction.
  • Expertise in HVAC, piping, and plumbing.
  • Proficiency with project management software (P6 or MS Project).

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex mechanical projects and teams from start to finish, ensuring schedule, budget, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure site safety plans, audits, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning are followed.
  • Coordinate with Design and Engineering to develop permit drawings and build plans.
  • Verify plans and materials align with submittals and RFIs.
  • Mentor other Project Managers.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and manage contracts and changes.
  • Develop advanced project schedules for all scopes.
  • Manage project budgeting and forecasting.
  • Build strong relationships with Owners, GCs, Vendors, and Subcontractors.
  • Communicate with field personnel, fabrication shops, warehouse, Safety, Service teams.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage and lead complex mechanical projects and project teams involving HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical pipe systems from start to finish, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and client satisfaction
  • Ensure site safety compliance and requirements are executed, including site-specific safety plans, audits, pick plans, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning
  • Coordinate with the Design and Engineering Team to develop permit drawings, update progress drawings, generate record drawings, and establish overall build plans for project scope
  • Verify that all plans, specifications, and project materials are delivered and installed based on approved submittals and RFIs
  • Manage and mentor other Project Managers, providing coaching to support their professional growth
  • Coordinate subcontractors by defining scope of work, preparing and issuing contracts, managing changes, and planning their schedules
  • Develop advanced project schedules for all contracted scopes of work
  • Manage the financial budgeting and forecasting for the project from start to finish
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including Owners, General Contractors, Vendors, and Subcontractors
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with field personnel, fabrication shops, warehouse managers, Safety, and Service teams

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager in Mechanical Construction (experience with HVAC, Piping, and Plumbing strongly preferred)
  • Knowledge of HVAC and piping systems, building products, construction details/design, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards preferred
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages and overall strong computer skills
  • Proficiency in P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Self-motivated with excellent time and project management skills
  • Strong personal commitment to long-term and meaningful goals
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and effectively multi-task with changing priorities
  • Demonstrated confidence in expertise and a proactive approach to researching and finding the right solutions
  • Personable, high-energy, and able to demonstrate ownership, leadership, and commitment to high-impact projects
