Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, seeks a Project Development Engineer to act as the technical contact for the DI sales team in pre-sale scope, costing, and application. You will also support post-sale project management, working on turn-key and equipment-only projects with a focus on accuracy and defined, awarded outcomes.

The role requires a BS in Electrical/Mechanical engineering, 5+ years experience, strong CAD skills, and knowledge of power systems, interconnections, and standards.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical or related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years in electrical consulting or development engineering.
• Strong CAD skills and ability to develop electrical one-line diagrams.
• Knowledge of power systems, estimation, and interconnection processes.
• Experience with renewable energy DER is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical resource for pre-sale development and scope.
• Coordinate with sales, engineering, and manufacturing on project delivery.
• Develop concept drawings, site layouts, and cost estimates.
• Perform post-sale project management as needed.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE and other standards.
