Job summary

PowerSecure is seeking a Project Development Engineer in Durham, NC to serve as the technical resource for the DI sales team during pre-sale development of scope, cost, and application, aligning with client design intent. You will also stay engaged post-sale as a system technical resource within the project management team.

This role covers turn-key, equipment-only, and specialty projects, focusing on accurate engineering support that leads to well-defined and awarded projects.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience as an electrical consultant or application/development engineer.
• Strong CAD skills and ability to develop concept drawings (one-line diagrams, site layouts).
• Knowledge of power systems, estimation, and interconnect processes.
• Renewable energy DER experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical resource contact for the DI sales team in pre-sale development of scope, costing, and application.
• Collaborate with sales, product engineering and manufacturing to define project scope, schedule, and risks.
• Support post-sale as system technical resource within the project management team.
• Assist in developing accurate estimates, proposals and technical delivery requirements.
