The Role

The Geotechnical Engineer (also known as Project Development Engineer or "PDE") is part of GSI’s client management team, responsible for identifying and pursuing prospective projects with key customers in the Geotechnical market, from lead to conversion.

Responsibilities
  1. Deploy best-in-class sales processes and tools to develop and implement account plans achieving sales targets and growth objectives.
  2. Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and expand the client base.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders in client organizations.
  4. Conduct regular meetings and negotiations to understand client requirements, address concerns, and propose solutions.
  5. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer support teams to ensure effective delivery of GSI solutions and services.
  6. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  7. Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to management, highlighting key account performance and growth.
  8. Develop and execute account-specific sales strategies, including pricing, promotions, and contract negotiations.
  9. Resolve any issues or disputes with key accounts promptly, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and customer needs to identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil) or related field
  2. 12 years of experience in a B2B, account-based, consultative selling environment
  3. Specific industry experience focusing on suitability and alignment with related roles and responsibilities is a big plus

  10. Self-starter with minimal oversight
Physical Demands & Working Environment
  1. Ability to conduct field visits, walk steep slopes, and traverse geohazards during site assessments
  2. Heavy travel as required, company-sponsored
  3. Work location: Candidate must be located in Pennsylvania, specifically in the Pittsburgh Metro area, or willing to spend significant time weekly in/around Pittsburgh

This role is remote from PA. The expected annual base salary in the Pittsburgh, PA area is $150,000.00 - $175,000.00, depending on qualifications, experience, and location.
