The Role

The Geotechnical Engineer (also known as Project Development Engineer or "PDE") is part of GSI’s client management team and is responsible for identifying and pursuing prospective projects with key customers in the Geotechnical market, from lead to conversion.

Responsibilities
  1. Deploy best-in-class sales processes and tools to develop and implement account plans to achieve sales targets and growth objectives.
  2. Identify new business opportunities with existing accounts and expand the client base.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders in client organizations.
  4. Conduct regular meetings and negotiations with clients to understand their requirements, address concerns, and propose suitable solutions.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as sales, marketing, and customer support, to ensure effective delivery of GSI solutions and services.
  6. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify potential risks or opportunities.
  7. Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to management, highlighting key account performance and growth.
  8. Develop and execute account-specific sales strategies, including pricing, promotions, and contract negotiations.
  9. Resolve issues or disputes that may arise between the company and key accounts, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and customer needs to proactively identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil) or related field
  2. 12 years of experience in a B2B, account-based consultative selling environment
  3. Specific industry experience is a big plus, especially relevant to the role's requirements and responsibilities

Physical Demands & Working Environment
  1. Ability to make field visits, walk steep slopes, and traverse geohazard sites during assessments
  2. Travel: Heavy company-sponsored travel as required
  3. Work Location: Must be located in the Pennsylvania, specifically the Pittsburgh Metro area, or willing to spend significant time there weekly

This role will be remote from PA. The expected annual base salary range for this position in the Pittsburgh, PA area is $150,000.00 - $175,000.00. Salary is dependent on qualifications, experience, and location and does not include potential bonuses or benefits.
