The Role

The Geotechnical Engineer (also known as Project Development Engineer or "PDE") is part of GSI’s client management team. You will be responsible for identifying and pursuing prospective projects with key customers in the Geotechnical market, from lead generation to conversion.

Responsibilities
  1. Deploy best-in-class sales processes and tools to develop and implement account plans to achieve sales targets and growth objectives.
  2. Identify new business opportunities with existing accounts and expand the client base.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within client organizations.
  4. Conduct regular meetings and negotiations with clients to understand their requirements, address concerns, and propose suitable solutions.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, and customer support to ensure effective delivery of GSI solutions and services.
  6. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify potential risks or opportunities.
  7. Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to management, highlighting key account performance and growth.
  8. Develop and execute account-specific sales strategies, including pricing, promotions, and contracts.
  9. Resolve issues or disputes that may arise between the company and key accounts, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and customer needs to proactively identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil) or related field
  2. 12 years of experience in a B2B account-based consultative selling environment
  3. Specific industry experience is a big plus, focusing on the suitability and alignment of related experience, job requirements, and the ability to execute role responsibilities

  5. Strong commercial acumen for deal-making

  8. Ability to make quick, accurate decisions and assessments
  9. Prior experience with CRM systems (SalesForce, Zendesk) is a plus
  10. Self-starter capable of self-management with minimal oversight
Physical Demands & Working Environment
  1. Ability to conduct field visits, walk steep slopes, and traverse geohazards during site assessments
  2. Heavy company-sponsored travel, as required
  3. Work location: must be in Pennsylvania, specifically the Pittsburgh Metro area, or willing to spend significant time weekly in/around Pittsburgh

The expected annual base salary range for this position in the Pittsburgh, PA area is $150,000.00 - $175,000.00. Salary ranges depend on qualifications, experience, and geographic location. This range is exclusive of potential bonuses or benefits.
