Job summary

MG2 Design in New York, NY is seeking a talented Project Designer II to join our Community Environments Market team. You will drive the design of dynamic mixed-use developments from concept through construction, translating bold ideas into buildable solutions for urban living.

You will collaborate with architects and designers, develop construction documents, create 3D visualizations, and support QA/QC reviews while aligning with project budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in a professional architecture or design firm.
• Certification as a licensed professional preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in design production and 3D visualization.
• Understanding of the relationship between design and constructability.
• Proficiency with Revit, Sketch-Up, Auto-CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Affinity, VRay and Enscape.
• Experience selecting both interior and exterior materials.
• Experience with sustainable material sourcing and embodied carbon documentation.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for communications and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assists with generation of original design concepts and completion of design deliverables including preliminary design documentation, conceptual plans and elevations, 3D renderings, and exhibits.
• Collaborates with architectural and design staff on projects of various types and scales, considering jurisdictional requirements and client standards.
• Understands architectural construction documents and assists with production efforts including consultant design integration.
• Coordinates project deliverables with external consultants and project partners.
• Conducts design research from benchmarking sources for ideation and detailed documentation.
• Contributes to QA/QC reviews to maintain design intent through all phases.
• Assists with generating project specifications and researching building products.
• Contributes to Construction Administration procedures with RFIs and submittals.
• Supports production of design deliverables for RFP/RFQ and marketing proposals.
• Supports a design culture with adherence to rigor standards and processes.
• Delivers accurate work aligned with project schedules and budgets.
