Job summary

MG2 in New York, NY is seeking a Project Designer (Level 2) to join our Community Environments Market team. This role contributes to original design concepts, prepares construction documents, and advances 3D visualizations for projects ranging from new construction to major renovations.

You will work with architects and designers, ensuring design intent and constructability are reflected in deliverables. Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and related tools is required, with a focus on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in a professional architecture or design firm.
• Certification as a licensed professional preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in design production and 3D visualization.
• Understanding of the relationship between design and constructability.
• Proficiency with Revit, Sketch-Up, Auto-CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Affinity, VRay and Enscape.
• Experience selecting both interior and exterior materials.
• Experience with sustainable material sourcing and documentation of embodied carbon preferred.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assists with generation of original design concepts and completion of design deliverables including preliminary design documentation, conceptual plans and elevations, 3D renderings, and exhibits.
• Collaborates with architectural and design staff on projects of various types and scales, considering jurisdictional requirements and client standards.
• understands constructability and assists with production-level efforts and consultant design integration.
• Coordinates project deliverables with external consultants and project partners.
• Conducts design research from benchmarking sources for ideation and detailed design documentation.
• Contributes to QA/QC reviews of design deliverables and construction documents to maintain design intent.
• Assists with generating project specifications and researching building products and materials.
• Contributes to Construction Administration procedures including RFIs and submittals.
• Contributes to RFP/RFQ responses and marketing proposals.
• Participates in building a design culture at MG2 and adheres to design rigor standards.
