Job summary

Jacobs in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Project Design Lead to drive end-to-end tool installation design packages for state-of-the-art semiconductor projects.   • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, etc.).
  • Ideally semiconductor, cleanroom or industrial projects experience.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Quickbase.
  • Team lead experience and problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

Ideal candidate will be located around or open to relocating to Hillsboro, OR.

The Design Lead is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex tool installation design packages, overseeing projects that can range from 15 to over 200 pages in scope. This role serves as the central point of coordination across multidisciplinary teams, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and architectural stakeholders, while also acting as the primary interface with clients through frequent, often daily, communication. In addition to managing scope, schedule, and budget to ensure timely and cost-effective execution, the Design Lead proactively removes roadblocks and enables design teams to work efficiently. The role requires the ability to independently oversee a high volume of work—typically 10–15 concurrent tool packages—while maintaining quality and momentum with minimal oversight. Responsibilities also include conducting field verifications, to confirm design accuracy and constructability, and driving progress by identifying solutions and advancing workstreams even when dependencies fall outside of direct control.

Here's what you'll need

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or 5+ years equivalent experience)

The base salary range for this position is $79,000.00 to $119,460.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
