Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Intermediate Level Designer to join our Tool Installation team on projects primarily for the semiconductor manufacturing industry. This hybrid role involves collaboration with engineers and package design leads across disciplines to deliver electrical packages on schedule.

You will use AutoCAD to draft electrical power, life safety, and telecom layouts, coordinate with peers, and meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in electrical design and layout requirements, including one-line diagrams and riser diagrams.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong communication, organization and self‑performance skills.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a remote environment.

What you’ll do

• Utilize AutoCAD
• Prepare drawings using computer aided drafting and basic design of electrical power, life safety, and telecommunications services to manufacturing tools, using appropriate design criteria.
• Coordinate directly with engineers and package design leads to balance workload and deliver packages, often under tight deadlines.

Here’s what you’ll need

• High school graduate or equivalent
• 2+ years experience with AutoCAD
• Proficiency in electrical design and layout requirements. Including items such as one‑line diagrams, riser diagrams, electrical plan view drawings
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong communication, organization and self‑performance skills
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of situations, including remote environment.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Two‑year Associate's Degree in relevant field, such as electrician, instrumentation & controls, construction
• Exposure to National Electrical Code (NFPA 70/NEC)
• Experience in semiconductor or similar industrial facilities

Additional Details

• This is a hybrid position and may require periodic travel to client sites
• Preference to candidates located in Jacobs home office locations; such as Portland Hillsboro, Corvallis OR; Tempe AZ; Pittsburgh PA.
• Site work will require field mobility including walking for surveys, stairs, access platforms, protective wear, etc.
• Must pass background check, drug screening and be fully authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship).

The base salary range for this position is $52,000.00 to $85,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
