Job description

RK&K is currently hiring an experienced leader in Structural Engineering to support existing clients and develop new business opportunities firm-wide. As a senior member of our Firmwide development team, you will lead various structural projects related to transportation, primarily focusing on projects across RK&K's current and new service areas. The ideal candidate should have state DOT experience, be proactive, capable of developing innovative technical solutions, and possess a strong understanding of structural operations with hands-on experience in bridge design and field operations.

This role can be remote with required travel to project sites as needed.

Essential Functions

1. Lead a structural design and engineering team in pursuit development and project delivery.
2. Participate in business development and marketing efforts to secure future clients and workload.
3. Provide senior-level structural expertise in conceptual and detailed engineering, including contract document preparation and construction administration.
4. Serve as Project/Program and Contractual Manager on structure-related projects.
5. Facilitate meetings, presentations, and plan approvals with internal teams and clients.
6. Manage project staff and sub-consultants.
7. Act as liaison between clients and the firm.
8. Execute QA/QC to ensure design accuracy and completeness.
9. Apply engineering judgment and initiative within the Structural Engineering field.

Required Skills and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
2. 10+ years of bridge design experience.
3. Excellent communication skills, including proposal development.
4. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
5. Experience with federal, state, and local government projects.

Preferred Skills and Experience

1. Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
2. Experience working across multiple states.
