Job description

RK&K is currently hiring an experienced leader in Structural Engineering to support existing clients and develop new business firm-wide. As a senior member of our firmwide development team, you will lead various structural pursuits and projects related to transportation, primarily focusing on projects across RK&K's current and new service areas. Candidates should have state DOT experience, be proactive, capable of developing creative technical solutions, and possess a strong understanding of structural operations with hands-on experience in bridge design and field operations.

This role can be remote with required travel to project sites as needed.

Essential Functions

1. Lead a structural design and engineering team in new pursuits and manage the delivery of structural assignments.
2. Participate in business development and marketing efforts to secure future clients and workload.
3. Provide senior-level structural expertise on all project aspects, including conceptual engineering, detailed design, and contract document preparation for construction, followed by construction administration.
4. Serve as Project/Program and Contractual Manager on various structure-related projects.
5. Facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations, and approval of plans.
6. Direct project staff and sub-consultants.
7. Act as liaison between the client and the firm.
8. Execute QA/QC to ensure completeness and accuracy of design work.
9. Apply engineering judgment and initiative within the Structural Engineering field.

Required Skills and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
2. At least 10 years of bridge design experience.
3. Excellent communication skills, including proposal development.
4. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
5. Experience with federal, state, and local government projects.

Preferred Skills and Experience

1. Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
2. Experience working in multiple states.
