Job description

RK&K is currently hiring an experienced leader in Structural Engineering to support existing clients and develop new business firm-wide. As a senior member of our firmwide development team, you will lead various structural projects, primarily focused on transportation and bridges, across RK&K's current and new service areas. Candidates should have DOT experience, be proactive, develop creative technical solutions, and possess strong knowledge of structural operations with hands-on experience in bridge design and field operations.

This role can be remote with required travel to project sites as needed.

Essential Functions

1. Lead a structural design and engineering team in pursuing new projects and delivering structural assignments.
2. Participate in business development and marketing efforts to secure future clients and workload.
3. Provide senior-level expertise on all project aspects, including conceptual and detailed engineering, contract document preparation, and construction administration for structural projects.
4. Serve as Project/Program and Contract Manager for various structure-related projects.
5. Facilitate meetings, presentations, and client approvals.
6. Manage project staff and sub-consultants.
7. Act as liaison between clients and the firm.
8. Ensure quality assurance and control for design work.
9. Apply engineering judgment and initiative within the Structural Engineering field.

Required Skills and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
2. 10+ years of bridge design experience.
3. Excellent communication skills, including proposal development.
4. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
5. Experience with federal, state, and local government projects.

Preferred Skills and Experience

1. Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
2. Experience working in multiple states.
