Job summary

Continental Shelf Associates, Inc. (CSA) is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in the Stuart, Florida office. The role emphasizes cost accounting, project cost analysis, and supporting month‑end close across the parent and subsidiary entities.

The candidate will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, and assist with financial reporting. Strong Excel skills and ERP experience (Acumatica a plus) are required. This is a full‑time, on‑site position in Florida.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of cost accounting including job costing, direct/indirect costs, and variance analysis.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience with cost/project accounting preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience with ERP systems; Acumatica experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel and large data set analysis.
• Experience with multi-entity and intercompany accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and other month‑end adjustments.
• Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations and maintain general ledger schedules.
• Assist with month‑end close and preparation of financial reports and statements.
• Track project costs, labor, subcontractor costs, equipment, and other direct expenses.
• Review cost coding and allocations to ensure expenses are recorded to correct projects and accounts.
• Prepare job cost reports and analyze variances with project managers.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and assist with intercompany transactions.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and sales/use tax reporting.
• Maintain audit-ready records and collaborate with departments on special projects.
