Job summary

MBTA is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to assist the Project Manager and Resident Engineer in coordinating design and construction activities. You will track processes related to professional services and construction contracts using the MBTA PMIS system (e-Builder), reporting to the Capital Programs leadership.

You will collaborate with QA/QC, Project Controls, and external partners, supporting development of scopes, budgets, and schedules while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of engineering design, architecture design, and/or construction experience.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and supervise in the manager’s absence.
• Proficiency in MS Office and data recording systems.
• Strong communication with regulatory agencies, community groups, and partners.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing consultant and construction contracts to meet safety, cost, and schedule goals.
• Act as project manager in their absence or as assigned by leadership.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules under supervision.
• Coordinate with municipal officials, the public, and external parties.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, charts, and presentations for senior management.
