  • Conduct community-based participant registration and onboarding with participant materials and technology.
  • Provide technical assistance for restaurants and participants throughout project.
  • Monitor project goals and outcomes.
  • Conduct post-project surveys with restaurants and participants.
  • Data management of information collected via registration, surveys, software systems, etc.
  • Evaluate and analyze data for intended outcomes.
  • Contribute to project report for PCA leadership.

Position type: Part-Time Internship (anticipated end date, March 1, 2027)

Pay range: $15/hour, 20 hours per week

Location: Hybrid (after training)

THE ORGANIZATION

A private nonprofit organization founded in 1973, Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) is a large agency that is part of the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) nationwide network. Founded as a result of the federal Older Americans Act, the AAAs are mandated to “facilitate the area-wide development and implementation of a comprehensive, coordinated system for providing long-term care in home and community-based settings, in a manner responsive to the needs and preferences of older individuals and their family caregivers.” PCA carries out this mission through advocacy, stewardship of public funding, planning, development and administration of programs, and service coordination.

The mission of PCA is to improve the quality of life for older Philadelphians and those with disabilities and assist them in achieving the greatest possible levels of health, independence, and productivity.

Description of Role: PCA's Community Cafe is a pilot program that will enable eligible older Philadelphians to enjoy a free, nutritious meal at participating restaurants. By partnering with restaurants in the community, PCA intends to increase availability of nutritious foods and social engagement for individuals who may not otherwise participate in congregate sites or senior centers. The Project Coordinator will support the development of the program, and be responsible for recruitment and relationship building, technical assistance, survey completion, and data management and analysis. The current target area is within the Tacony section of the city.

Requirements

Required Education: Current graduate student or recent Master’s level graduate.
